Macau in Motion: The 6th APCEA Business Presentation Contest

The 6th APCEA Business Presentation Contest, organized by the Asia-Pacific Communication Exchange Association (APCEA), ended successfully on March 20 at the Hengqin Campus of University of Macau after several rounds of division contests in Macau and Zhuhai. Six teams of tertiary institutions, four from the Macau/HK division final and two from the Zhuhai division final, competed vigorously for the top three prizes in the Grand Final.

Team ‘Rainmakers’ from the Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai won the first prize in the Grand Final. The team of Frozen Warriors from the University of Macau won the second prize whose promotional theme focused on life of ordinary people in Macau. Team ‘Macau walker’ from Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai won the third prize. The most popular speaker is Zheng Dai Si from the team ‘Rainmakers’.

The theme of the 6th ABPC is ‘Macau in motion’. Competition teams need to plan a Micro Film project (10-15 minutes) which aims at promoting the image of Macau in a more creative manner. The final contestants’ proposals have to include a 2-minute micro film trailer, a budget plan, and the source of funding and promotional strategies to give the films maximum exposure.

Guests attending the final included Ms. Carmen Chan, Director of Centre of Languages, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Macau; Dato Dr. Cheah See Kian, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors, Han Chiang College, Malaysia; Prof. Shuhua Zhou, Professor/Associate Dean, CIS Office for Graduate Studies, The University of Alabama; Mr. Timothy Chui, Deputy Director of News Department, China Daily Hong Kong Edition; Ms. Mary Lau, Marketing Manager, Hong Kong Office of World Scientific Publishing Company, Singapore; Dr. Manuel Noronha, Associate Master, Moon Chun Memorial College, University of Macau; Prof. Wu Shu Jing, Dean, School of Foreign Languages, Beijing Institute of Technology, etc…

APCEA Business Presentation Contest, initiated in Macau in 2010, has been enjoying a good reputation among Macau and its surrounding areas in virtue of its high English level and professional practicality. It has become an essential brand English activity for Macau.

APCEA, the organizer of the contest, is a non-profit organization registered in Macau. Using Macau as a platform, APCEA aims to support scholars in the communication and media field and promote academic exchange activities, accelerating the development of communication in the Asian-Pacific Region and attracting more academic activities to Macau regarding the field of communication, education, English and business communication.
